Changing How the List is Sorted

The default sorting for a list is alphabetical on Last Name. However, you can change this in the settings (click Settings button (cog) on top right.

This allows you to change the list to sort using:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Birthday
  • Manually
  • Zip/Post Code
  • Card Status
  • Completed status

The birthday sort is very useful for creating a list of birthdays. Obviously it will only sort correctly when the birthday has been entered for each person on the list.

With manual sort, you can arrange the order of names manually by clicking on a name with your mouse, keeping the mouse button held down. Then move the mouse up or down to move the name, releasing the button when finished.

Note: for the Zip code sort to work, the app needs to have stored the zip/postal code when importing the names. If you have already imported names from a csv file using an earlier version of Address labels, you will need to re-import the names allowing the zip/post code to be stored. Also, it is essential that the zip/post code is in its own column when importing from a csv file. if the zip/post code is just part of an address in an Address column, in a csv file, Address labels will not be able to store it properly, and zip/post code sorting will not work.

Sorting on Card Status arranges the list with cards unwritten first, then written, mailed, eCards, hand-delivered and finally airmail cards.

Sorting on Completed lists the uncompleted cards first, followed by the completed cards.

When you have finished making your changes, close the Settings window, allowing you to carry on using the app.
